A massive influx of holiday entertainment, true-crime storytelling, prestige drama, and live sporting competition will land on Netflix during November 2026. The monthly catalog is heavily tilted toward the winter holiday season, bringing dozens of Christmas-themed movies, festive television episodes, and returning reality specials. In addition to seasonal favorites, the streamer is pushing deeper into live sports broadcasting by hosting a high-profile professional football showdown right before the American Thanksgiving holiday, while also rolling out gripping true stories and comedy standup sets.
FTX Drama, Gripping Thrillers, and High-Profile Documentaries
Among the most anticipated scripted releases of the month is the limited drama series The Altruists, premiering on November 19. The series chronicles the meteoric rise, subsequent collapse, and criminal trials of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and Alameda Research executive Caroline Ellison. Ellison is portrayed by Julia Garner, known for her acclaimed performances in Ozark and Inventing Anna. Earlier in the month, on November 13, Jessica Chastain headlines the original thriller film Heartland, taking on the role of a former country music performer who embarks on a desperate search following the mysterious disappearance of her niece.
Non-fiction programming also features prominently on the calendar. On November 11, director Ron Howard brings Avedon to the service, examining the career, artistic influence, and complex personal history of the iconic American portrait photographer. For stand-up comedy enthusiasts, three solo specials will arrive across consecutive weeks: Mike Tyson delivers Return of the Mike on November 3, Janelle James presents How Romantic on November 10, and Mike Ward debuts Modest on November 17. Meanwhile, reality baking competition fans can look forward to the return of The Great British Baking Show: Holidays for its ninth season on November 23.
Thanksgiving Eve Football and Live Streaming Push
Highlighting the streamer's expanding portfolio of real-time events is NFL Netflix Gameday: Thanksgiving Eve on November 25, which features an on-field matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams. Scheduled to stream live on the eve of the holiday, the broadcast represents a major destination for sports fans gathering for long-weekend celebrations. That same day, subscribers will also receive The Mosquito Bowl, an original film exploring the collision of gridiron football and historical military conflict.
