A shocking incident of violence has unfolded in the Washim district of Maharashtra, where a minor dispute between two agricultural labourers over cooking dinner culminated in murder. One labourer killed his coworker and subsequently dug a pit in the farmland to bury the corpse in an attempt to destroy evidence. The horrific episode triggered fear across the locality before law enforcement officials intervened and apprehended the accused.
Coworkers Hired From Madhya Pradesh For Farm Labour
The crime took place near Anai Phata in the Kherda Karanja area under Karanja taluka of Washim district. Santosh Tidke, a farmer residing in Malipura, had engaged two workers from Madhya Pradesh to assist with agricultural operations on his land. Both men stayed on the farmland itself to carry out their daily chores. The victim has been identified as Yuvraj Dhurari Borkhade, a resident of Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, while the individual who carried out the assault was identified as Dinesh Uike.
Altercation Erupted Over Preparing Roti And Vegetables
The fatal confrontation started in the evening over cooking meals after a day of field labour. An argument broke out between the two regarding why one was making roti while vegetables were not being cooked. What began as a petty verbal exchange quickly escalated into physical violence as tempers flared. In a fit of extreme rage, Dinesh Uike attacked his coworker Yuvraj Dhurari Borkhade with such brutality that Yuvraj succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Concealment In The Farmland And Subsequent Arrest
Realizing that his coworker had died, Dinesh Uike attempted to conceal the crime. He dug a pit directly inside the agricultural field and buried Yuvraj's remains underneath the soil. The grave crime came to light when farm owner Santosh Tidke learned of the development and promptly alerted the Karanja city police.
Upon receiving the alert, a police team arrived at the crime scene, cordoned off the area, and exhumed the body from the pit. The remains were subsequently dispatched to a medical facility for an autopsy. While Dinesh Uike had fled the scene following the killing, Karanja police acted swiftly to track him down and take him into custody. Investigators have initiated a formal inquiry and further legal proceedings against the accused.
