Security forces operating in the valley districts of Manipur have successfully apprehended four individuals linked to banned insurgent outfits during targeted operations. According to a senior police officer, the operation in Imphal East district was launched following specific intelligence gathered jointly by Assam Rifles and Garhwal Rifles. Acting on this tip-off, security personnel raided the Mana Ingkhol area and detained a 28-year-old active cadre belonging to the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM). Simultaneously, another successful raid was carried out in the Chingmeirong locality of Imphal West district, where a 44-year-old member of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) was captured.
More Suspects Apprehended Across Valley Districts
Sharing further details, authorities stated that the remaining two arrests involved an active member of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), who was picked up directly from his residence in the Sagoltongba area of Imphal West district. The fourth suspect was cornered and detained from the Ahallup region in Imphal East district, with police identifying him as an operative associated with a KCP faction. Investigators are currently interrogating all four detainees while appropriate legal procedures under relevant sections are being initiated against them.

In an unrelated incident within the capital city of Imphal, an individual hailing from the neighboring state of Assam was brutally murdered following a dispute over illegal narcotics transactions. Police reported that the victim, a resident of Borozalenga village in Silchar, Assam, was fatally attacked on his neck with a sharp weapon late Monday night in the busy Thangal bazaar area. Law enforcement officials have successfully taken both accused individuals into custody in connection with this homicide.
