Delhi Police have successfully cracked a high-profile burglary case at a DCP's residence located in the upscale Kaka Nagar neighborhood of the national capital. Authorities have apprehended the accused person and recovered all the stolen items associated with the incident. The break-in took place on August 11, when the police officer departed from his home in the morning to report for his official daily duties.
Upon returning to his residence later that day, the officer found the interior of the house completely ransacked with belongings scattered everywhere. A subsequent inspection revealed that an iPhone, a ring, and cash, alongside several other valuables, had been stolen from the premises. Following the discovery, a formal complaint was promptly registered at the Tughlak Road police station, initiating a thorough law enforcement investigation.
Investigation and Recovery of Stolen Valuables
During the preliminary inquiry, investigators found that a door situated near the kitchen had not been properly secured, allowing unauthorized entry into the house. Utilizing CCTV footage, technical surveillance data, and local intelligence gathering, police teams tracked down the movements of the suspect involved in the crime.
Law enforcement has now successfully recovered the entirety of the stolen property. The retrieved items include an iPhone, a diamond ring, cash, bank cards, and crucial identification documents belonging to the victim. Further legal proceedings and investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
Khari Baoli Shop Burglary Case in Old Delhi
In a separate criminal incident within Delhi, authorities arrested an individual responsible for a major theft at a commercial shop located in the busy Khari Baoli market area of Old Delhi. The crime occurred during the night of July 28, when an unidentified perpetrator broke a window of the shop, unlawfully entered the premises, and fled with 7.79 lakh rupees from the cash safe.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, police apprehended a 40-year-old suspect on August 2. North Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Raja Bantia stated that in an attempt to destroy vital evidence and hinder the investigation, the culprit had also stolen the shop's CCTV digital video recorder (DVR).
Extensive CCTV Footages Track the Suspect
Investigating officers revealed that to trace the suspect, police teams scoured through the footage of more than 100 CCTV cameras installed across the surrounding areas. The technical trail led authorities to discover that the accused had taken shelter at the residence of one of his relatives in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, leading to his capture on August 2.
Police confirmed that 2.32 lakh rupees in cash were recovered from his dwelling. Furthermore, authorities noted that an associate of the main suspect is currently at large, and police efforts are underway to locate and arrest him soon.
