A tragic incident unfolded in the national capital early Monday when a massive fire broke out inside a warehouse located in the Raghubir Nagar area of Delhi. The blaze proved fatal for two individuals who were caught in the flames, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood and prompting an immediate response from local authorities.
E-Rickshaw Battery Blast Triggers Blaze
According to details, the fire originated on the first floor of a building in Raghubir Nagar where several e-rickshaw batteries were stored. In the early hours of the morning, one of these batteries suddenly suffered a powerful explosion. The blast instantly sparked a raging fire that quickly escalated, engulfing the entire warehouse in towering flames and dense smoke before anyone could intervene.
Fire Department Deploys Four Tenders
Emergency services responded swiftly upon receiving word of the warehouse blaze. The fire department was alerted to the incident at 4:42 AM. Four fire tenders were rushed to the location immediately. Firefighters engaged in intensive efforts to battle the raging inferno and eventually brought the flames under control, though not before the fire had already inflicted severe damage.
Victims Declared Brought Dead at Hospital
Two people present inside the warehouse were trapped by the sudden spread of fire and suffocating smoke. Rescue personnel extracted them from the disaster site and rushed them without delay to the nearby Guru Govind Singh Hospital. However, upon examining the victims, doctors declared them brought dead. The deceased were identified as 17-year-old Sufed, son of Mohammad Naseem, and 38-year-old Mohammad Samid, son of Sheikh Ridki. The sudden tragedy has plunged both families into profound grief while local authorities continue their investigation into the warehouse safety and the exact circumstances of the blast.
