A catastrophic structural collapse occurred in the Seemapuri area of Delhi, where a multi-storey building suddenly gave way, leaving several people feared trapped beneath the rubble. The sudden collapse caused immediate chaos in the densely populated neighborhood, prompting an urgent response from local residents, the Delhi Police, and the fire brigade to search for survivors.
Afternoon Alert and Rapid Emergency Mobilization
The fire control room received an emergency alert regarding the collapse at 3:15 PM. Responding swiftly to the distress call, teams from the Delhi Police and multiple fire tenders rushed to the scene to initiate search and rescue operations. Heavy emergency equipment and rescue personnel have been deployed to systematically cut through the concrete debris and reach anyone trapped underneath.
Structure Built on Compact Plot, Two Children Pulled Out Alive
The fallen building stood on a compact 25-square-yard plot, housing commercial shops on the ground floor beneath four residential floors above. Immediately following the collapse, nearby residents took action and managed to rescue 2 children alive from the rubble. Rescue workers continue their operation on site to ensure that all potential survivors are safely located and extracted.
