Teachers and education department employees in Rajasthan hoping for a change in their recent postings will have to accept their current assignments, as the state government has officially closed the transfer window. Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar has delivered a stern message that the transfer process within the education department is completely shut, leaving no room for further discussions, modifications, or re-evaluations.
Strict Compliance for Transferred Employees
The announcement comes as a significant setback for numerous employees who were holding out hope for their transfers to be cancelled or adjusted. Dilawar made it explicitly clear that any staff member who has already been issued transfer orders must proceed to their newly assigned location and assume their duties without exception.
Speaking to the media on Sunday during his visit to Jodhpur, the minister emphasized that the official window for processing transfers was only open until July 10. Since that date has passed, a strict ban is now in effect. By mandating immediate compliance, the government aims to stabilize the staffing situations in schools and departmental offices across Rajasthan.
“Now there will be no discussion on transfers. Whoever has been transferred wherever, they must go and work there,” Dilawar stated, ruling out any possibility of reconsidering the issued orders.
Resolving the APO Situation for Dual Postings
Administrative reshuffles often lead to logistical errors, and the minister addressed a common concern regarding overlapping appointments. When questioned about situations where two different employees have mistakenly been transferred to the exact same post, Dilawar provided a clear administrative solution.
He explained that in such overlapping scenarios, the employee who was already working at that specific location prior to the transfer orders will be placed on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status. To prevent any administrative chaos or confusion at the ground level, necessary directives have already been issued to the concerned departmental officials to manage these specific cases smoothly.
Pushback Against Opposition Allegations
The press interaction also saw Dilawar forcefully countering political attacks from the opposition. He specifically targeted the accusations made by Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra, who had alleged that the minister was favoring his own family members in the transfer process.
Dilawar delivered a sharp rebuttal to the Congress leader's claims. He stated that while Dotasra might prioritize his own relatives, for him, the entire education department constitutes his family. The minister defended the government's transfer policy, asserting that postings and transfers are executed strictly in accordance with departmental rules and actual administrative requirements, rather than being tailored to benefit any specific individual or family.
Furthermore, the Education and Panchayati Raj Minister addressed the opposition's criticisms regarding the delay in holding Panchayati Raj elections. He accused the Congress party of actively trying to mislead the public. However, he expressed confidence that the citizens of Rajasthan do not believe the opposition's narrative, maintaining that the current government is making all its decisions firmly within the boundaries of constitutional processes and established rules.
Jodhpur Itinerary and Cultural Event
The policy clarifications were made on the sidelines of a busy Sunday schedule in Jodhpur. Upon his arrival at the Circuit House, Dilawar held extensive meetings with various stakeholders. His interactions included private school operators, working teachers, education department staff, government educators, and local BJP office bearers. During these sessions, multiple organizations took the opportunity to submit memorandums outlining their specific demands and concerns.
Following these engagements at the Circuit House, the minister departed for the Bhopalgarh area of Jodhpur district. He visited Birai village to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Indian Sanatan Culture Revival Building. His schedule concluded with a planned return journey to Jaipur by Sunday evening.
While the transfer season has definitively concluded in Rajasthan, the desire for preferred postings remains among some staff. Nevertheless, the education minister's uncompromising stance confirms that the government will enforce the current placements, requiring everyone to serve at their designated locations.
