The actor took to his social media accounts to inform his supporters about his health condition and announced that he would not be able to attend the scheduled event in Bangalore as planned.
Bangalore Show Postponed
Emraan Hashmi was scheduled to perform at a major Bollywood themed event in Bangalore. Addressing his fans directly, the actor explained that the show has been pushed to a later date due to his unexpected illness. He shared a message on Instagram stating that he was unwell and unfortunately unable to make it to the Bangalore show. However, he reassured his audience by stating that the picture is not over yet, just postponed, and promised to meet everyone at Sunburn Union with tickets remaining valid for the rescheduled date.
Return to the Stage After Two Decades
This health setback comes at a time when the actor was preparing for a stage comeback after nearly two decades. Reports indicate that he was lined up to participate as a key performer in two Bollywood themed events, one in Bangalore and another in Hyderabad, for which he reportedly charged a substantial fee. The Bangalore event, titled 'The Era', was expected to feature hit songs from his iconic films like 'Murder', 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne', and 'Jannat', while the Hyderabad event was planned as a compact stage show alongside another artist.
Box Office Success of 'Awarapan 2'
The health hurdle arrives during a successful phase in the actor's career. The sequel to his 2007 cult film, 'Awarapan 2', has crossed the milestone of 200 crore rupees at the box office. The actor recently made a surprise appearance alongside his co-star Disha Patani at a special screening of the film in Mumbai. Both interacted with the audience during the interval to discuss the positive reactions to the sequel. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the movie features the actor returning as Shivam Pandit, caught in an Interpol officer's mission involving rescued children, alongside Disha Patani as Zara and Shabana Azmi as a gangster queen.
