Pawan Kalyan was born on 2 September 1971 in Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh. His birth name is Konidela Kalyan Babu. He is the youngest brother of legendary Telugu actor Chiranjeevi and prominent actor-producer Nagendra Babu. Raised in a household deeply connected to the film industry, Kalyan Babu naturally developed an intricate fascination with the craft of movie making.
In his early interviews, he openly shared that his true ambition lay in becoming a skilled technician and film director. He was captivated by the creative process of writing screenplays, visualising stories for the big screen, and guiding the overall film production. Sister-in-Law's Encouragement and Acting Debut

His sister-in-law Surekha, wife of superstar Chiranjeevi, played the most instrumental role in persuading him.
