From Indore to Digital Stardom
Shreya Kalra hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. After finishing her schooling, she pursued higher education and successfully completed her MBA degree. Her digital journey began in 2018 on TikTok, where she initially gained widespread popularity through her engaging dance routines, fashion presentation, and lip-sync video clips that quickly resonated with thousands of viewers.
When TikTok was banned in India in 2020, Shreya pivoted her digital career strategy towards Instagram and YouTube. On these platforms, she continued to build a loyal fanbase by creating content centered around lifestyle and entertainment, establishing a durable online presence.
Reality Television Debut and Professional Growth
Looking beyond traditional social media content creation, Shreya expanded her professional footprint into television. In 2020, she made her reality TV debut on MTV Roadies Revolution, joining the show as a wildcard entrant in Nikhil Chinapa's team. Although her journey on the show was relatively brief, it provided her with valuable exposure and established her visibility among mainstream television audiences.
Following her stint on MTV Roadies Revolution, Shreya diversified her career within the digital media landscape. She took on hosting duties for digital reality shows, conducted interviews with notable celebrities, expanded her lifestyle content, and launched her own personal podcast. Her established reputation as a dynamic digital personality eventually paved the way for her selection as a standout contestant on Lock Upp 2.
Controversies, Heated Clashes, and Emotional Bonds in Lock Upp 2
Inside the Lock Upp 2 house, Shreya's journey was marked by fierce debates, high-voltage drama, and strategic gameplay. Over the course of the season, she engaged in sharp clashes with several housemates, including Yogesh Rawat, Akanksha Choudhary, and Sufi Motiwala. One of the most controversial moments occurred when Shreya revealed on camera that Akanksha Chamola is bisexual, a statement that triggered intense backlash and online trolling directed at Shreya.
Despite the frequent arguments and controversies, Shreya also formed meaningful friendships during the show, bonding closely with co-contestants Shilpa Shinde and Madhuri Grover. When Shreya was officially announced as the winner of Lock Upp 2, Shilpa Shinde became overwhelmed with emotion and broke into tears of joy to celebrate her friend's triumph.
