Ground-level construction has commenced on a crucial infrastructure project aimed at upgrading rural connectivity in Jaipur Rural. The long-standing demand of local residents in the Raithal area is finally turning into reality as work begins on a 3.5-kilometer road stretch connecting Raithal and Basri. Designated under MDR-467, the engineering project involves a total financial allocation of around Rs 5.25 crore overseen by the Public Works Department. This initiative will replace an eroded route with a modern paved corridor, resolving decades of transportation hardship.
Project Budget and Technical Scope
Rajat Sharma, assistant engineer at the Public Works Department in Jalsu, stated that an amount of Rs 5.25 crore has received formal sanction specifically for developing the 3.5-kilometer segment of the Raithal-Basri roadway. Following the clearance of procedural and budgetary approvals, workforce and construction machinery have been deployed on site to execute the physical work. Once completed, the rebuilt corridor will significantly streamline travel conditions, making daily vehicular movement much smoother and safer than before.
Strategic Link Across Three Assembly Constituencies
Bhagwan Sahay Yadav, administrator of the Raithal Gram Panchayat, explained that the state government granted sanction for the roadway following representations made by Amber MLA Prashant Sharma. This route holds significant regional importance because it directly links commuters traveling across the Amber, Jhotwara, and Phulera assembly constituencies. By establishing a robust artery between these jurisdictions, the project will seamlessly connect multiple adjoining villages and modernize the rural road network.
A Decade-Long Wait Concludes for Residents
Villagers pointed out that community petitions demanding the construction of the Raithal-Basri route had been continuously raised for approximately 10 years. During this ten-year period, commuting over the degraded stretch caused regular inconvenience to residents, especially students, healthcare patients, and elderly citizens. Even after official project clearance was granted, locals were eagerly anticipating the actual commencement of ground operations. The visible deployment of roadwork equipment has now brought widespread optimism across the region.
