The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has finalized all logistical and technical arrangements for conducting the Group D recruitment Computer Based Test (CBT) under notice CEN 09/2025. Examinations are scheduled to commence on 3 August 2026 across designated test centers nationwide. With lakhs of candidates competing for government jobs in Indian Railways, the board has issued key operational guidelines regarding the availability of hall tickets and test schedules. Eligible candidates can access and download their official e-call letters exactly four days prior to their specific examination dates.
RRB Group D Exam Schedule and Daily Shift Timings
The recruitment assessment will be executed entirely in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The nationwide examination drive spans 16 operational days starting from 3 August 2026 and concluding on 25 August 2026. To manage the large candidate volume efficiently, the board has spread the sessions across multiple dates and shifts.
Examinations will take place in three distinct shifts every day. The first shift is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM. The second shift starts at 12:45 PM, followed by the third shift beginning at 4:30 PM. Candidates must strictly adhere to the reporting times printed on their admit cards, as gate closure times will be strictly enforced to facilitate pre-exam identity checks.
Timeline for Admit Cards and City Intimation Slips
To help candidates arrange their travel and accommodation, the board releases the exam city and date notification slip approximately 10 days before the test date. This intimation slip informs candidates about the city where their exam center is located and their scheduled exam date.
However, the official admit card with the exact test center address is made available four days before each candidate's exam date. Candidates scheduled to take the exam on 3 August 2026 can download their hall tickets starting 31 July 2026. Similarly, candidates whose exams fall on 4 August 2026 will get access to their admit cards on 1 August 2026, and the same four-day rule applies to all subsequent test dates. The recruitment board emphasized that admit cards will not be dispatched via postal mail or email under any circumstances and must be downloaded online.
