A formidable assembly of 10,000 personnel drawn from various police forces, central armed police organizations, and security units deployed in counter-insurgency sectors presented an inspiring display of courage and precision along Ekta Path in Kevadia, Gujarat. Witnessed by an estimated gathering of 25,000 spectators, the grand Ekta Parade commenced in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The occasion brought together India's security preparedness alongside a vivid celebration of the nation's diverse regional cultures and collective unity.
Frontline Security Units and Elite Contingents on Display
The parade highlighted the tactical proficiencies and field training of several elite wings across Indian security services. A significant focal point was the conspicuous participation of women personnel, led by the Chhattisgarh Police's female District Reserve Guard (DRG) unit alongside women officers from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Their disciplined march underscored frontline operational inclusion across challenging terrains. Furthermore, the specialized 'Hell March' contingent of the National Security Guard (NSG) presented an austere demonstration of swift tactical readiness.
Crowds were treated to high-adrenaline motorcycle stunts performed by daring dispatch riders from both the Border Security Force (BSF) and the CRPF, who negotiated rigorous maneuvers at high speeds. The operational traditions of the forces were further reflected through the BSF's iconic camel contingent and musical band, demonstrations of disciplined martial arts, and specialized drills by an indigenous canine squad. In the skies above the venue, the Indian Air Force's premier aerobatic team, 'Suryakiran', executed sweeping aerial formations, highlighting precision flight capabilities under demanding parameters.
Commemorating 150 Years of Vande Mataram with 15 Tableaux
A central historic motif interwoven into the proceedings was the commemoration of 150 years since the inception of the national song, 'Vande Mataram'. Drawing direct inspiration from ideas submitted by citizens, 15 specially designed tableaux rolled along the ceremonial pathway to reflect the country's pluralistic heritage and shared identity.
Of these 15 floats, 10 represented various cultural dimensions and milestones from Gujarat, while the remaining 5 showcased traditions and achievements from other states across the republic. Together, these colorful displays offered an integrated portrait of the distinctive regional expressions that form India's unified cultural fabric, blending history with modern aspirations.
Focus on Counter-Naxal Arenas and Testimonies of Resilience
A poignant segment of the observance centered on operational theaters affected by Left-Wing Extremism, honoring the sustained sacrifices of personnel stationed in these remote outposts. A dedicated theatrical performance brought together 2,000 artists drawn from 126 districts impacted by Naxalite violence, narrating firsthand experiences of civilian victims and the restoration of normalcy in those areas.
Accompanying these performances were screenings of short documentary films chronicling the lives and field engagements of security forces. Musical accompaniments by school bands, National Cadet Corps (NCC) units, and official military ensembles sustained the ceremonial atmosphere. In harmonizing tactical displays with theatrical and musical expressions, the Kevadia event placed the selfless contributions of the nation's guardians at the very center of its message on national coherence.
