A shocking and dramatic incident unfolded in the Vadnagar taluka of Mehsana district on the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan, where a married woman was allegedly abducted by her own brother and three other accomplices. The victim, identified as Vaidehi Patel, had entered into a love marriage approximately seven months prior to the incident, a union that her family members strongly opposed and were deeply unhappy about.
Following the brazen abduction, the woman's husband approached the Vadnagar taluka police station and lodged a formal complaint. Law enforcement authorities promptly registered a case and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Marriage Against Family Wishes Seven Months Ago
The sequence of events traces back to Vakharpura village located within the Chabliya border area of Vadnagar taluka. Sachin Kumar Bharatji Thakor, a resident of the area, had married Vaidehi Patel, a native of Malekpur in Vadnagar, around seven months ago through a love marriage. Ever since their wedding, Vaidehi had been living peacefully with her husband at his residence. On the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan, Vaidehi's brother, Jenil Patel, sent a message via Instagram asking her to meet him so she could tie a rakhi.
Responding to the message, Sachin Kumar traveled to Vadnagar on his Activa scooter, accompanied by his wife Vaidehi and their young niece Pinchu. The meeting took place near Toraniya Vad in front of the Bahuchar petrol pump, where Vaidehi traditionally tied the rakhi to her brother.
Brother Flees With Woman in Unnumbered Car
Immediately after the rakhi ceremony concluded, as the couple prepared to head back home, Jenil engaged them in conversation under the pretext of talking, effectively stalling them. At around 1:15 PM, a white Ertiga car bearing no number plates approached from the direction of Visnagar. The occupants inside the vehicle suddenly flung open the car door, causing Sachin's Activa scooter to lose balance and crash to the ground.
Two unidentified men stepped out of the car and forcefully dragged Vaidehi inside, ignoring her intense protests, resistance, and desperate cries for help. According to the complaint, her brother Jenil abandoned his own Activa scooter at the spot, boarded the same white car along with the abductors, and fled from the location.

In his complaint, he accused Jenil Patel and three unidentified individuals of orchestrating a premeditated conspiracy to kidnap his wife.
