A birthday celebration turned into an agonizing nightmare in Haryana's Karnal when a 20-year-old youth named Krish was brutally stabbed to death following an altercation between two groups of young men. Krish had stepped out of his residence at around 7:00 pm on October 2 to celebrate his 20th birthday with his companions. The violent clash occurred near Gol Chowk in the vicinity of Shiv Colony, where an argument escalated into bloodshed, leaving Krish fatally wounded. He was rushed to a nearby medical facility, but attending doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Mother Urged Him to Stay Home, Grieving Family Demands Justice
Outside the mortuary, Krish's mother Sunita was inconsolable as she waited for her son's body following the post-mortem examination. She recounted that Krish had taken 2,000 rupees and left home around 7:00 pm to celebrate his birthday. She had repeatedly pleaded with him to stay indoors and celebrate at home with his family, but he insisted on going out with his circle of friends.
According to the family, Krish spoke to his mother over the telephone at around midnight, reassuring her that he was finishing up and would return home shortly. That reassuring phone call was the last time she ever heard his voice. Devastated by the sudden loss, Sunita declared that the family would refuse to take custody of the body until every individual responsible for the murder is apprehended and brought to justice.
Midnight Call Promised a Quick Return, Midnight Notification Brought Tragedy
Krish's elder brother, Karn, recounted the sequence of events from that fateful night, stating that their mother had contacted Krish on his mobile phone around 12:00 am. Krish had confirmed during the brief call that he was on his way back. However, when Karn dialled his brother's number again around 1:30 am, the person answering the call informed him that Krish had sustained severe injuries and urged the family to rush to the hospital immediately.
Upon reaching the hospital, the family was devastated when police personnel confirmed that Krish had already succumbed to his injuries. Inquiries with Krish's friends revealed that a group of boys from Shiv Colony had intercepted them on their way, surrounding the group and instigating a physical brawl. During the ensuing scuffle, the assailants produced a knife and repeatedly stabbed Krish.
Ramnagar Police Launch Murder Investigation, Four Suspects Detained
Inspector Deepchand, the Station House Officer of Ramnagar police station, stated that law enforcement received an emergency alert informing them that a young man had been stabbed and rushed to the hospital. A police team immediately mobilized to inspect the crime scene and verify conditions at the hospital, where medical staff officially pronounced Krish dead.
Preliminary findings by the police indicate that Krish was celebrating with his friends while the rival group of youths was separately partying at another location. When the two factions crossed paths on the street, a dispute erupted between them, which quickly escalated into a lethal physical confrontation during which Krish was targeted with a knife.
According to SHO Deepchand, a formal murder investigation has been initiated following an official complaint lodged by the victim's family. Law enforcement authorities have already taken four suspects into custody for detailed interrogation. Police officials stated that search operations are actively underway to locate any additional individuals involved in the crime, while ongoing efforts aim to recover the weapon used in the fatal stabbing.
