In Bahadurgarh, Haryana, law enforcement faces serious questions as criminals have grown brazen enough to target prominent political figures right outside their homes. A brazen vehicle theft took place in Sector-6 of the city, where a Brezza car belonging to BJP district vice-president Naresh Bhardwaj was stolen from right in front of his residence. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, at around 4 am, when residential streets were completely deserted.
Three Suspects Arrived in a Creta
According to details, three masked or unidentified suspects arrived at the spot riding in a Creta. They initially conducted reconnaissance of the surrounding residential neighborhood to ensure the coast was clear. Following this, one of the young men approached the parked Brezza, broke the lock within seconds, and successfully started the vehicle. The trio managed to execute the entire operation within roughly 7 minutes before fleeing the area with the stolen car.
CCTV cameras installed outside the residence of the BJP leader clearly recorded the actions of the three suspects. The footage shows the systematic manner in which they approached the vehicle, compromised the security, and drove away without any apparent fear of being caught. Residents pointed out that the colony lacked any security guards, which made it easier for the miscreants to operate unchecked. Locals have openly blamed the local police for a lack of regular night patrols, raising grave concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens' vehicles in residential zones.
Vehicle Recovered from Loni Dehat in Uttar Pradesh
After initial tracking placed the vehicle's location near Ghaziabad, the stolen Brezza was eventually recovered from Loni Dehat in the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh. The fact that the culprits managed to drive the stolen automobile all the way across state lines from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh highlights gaps in highway monitoring and night policing. Although the vehicle has been traced, the primary suspects seen clearly in the CCTV footage remain at large, making their identification and subsequent arrest a priority for local authorities.
Victim Has Been with the BJP for Two Decades
The affected leader, Naresh Bhardwaj, has a long-standing association with the ruling party, having been active in the organization for approximately 20 years. He has previously served as the district general secretary and has also contested municipal council elections from Ward No. 21. Following the incident, he has strongly urged the local police department to apprehend the culprits swiftly and to significantly step up security and patrolling measures throughout the city to prevent such audacious crimes in the future.
