A harrowing case of child abuse in the Rohtak district of Haryana has ended with the arrest of a victim's own parents. Investigators confirmed that a four-year-old girl was subjected to severe sexual assault not by an outsider, but by her own father. Following revelations uncovered during a dedicated counseling process, law enforcement authorities took both the father and the mother into custody on a five-day police remand. Preliminary police findings established that the accused father frequently watched pornographic videos. After committing the crime against his daughter, he orchestrated an elaborate attempt to shift the blame onto an underage boy studying at her school. It required nearly one and a half months of persistent investigation to unravel the fabrication.
False Accusations and School Protests
The episode began unfolding in mid-September when the child's mother submitted a formal police complaint on September 16, alleging that her four-year-old daughter had been assaulted. According to the mother's initial statement, swelling was noticed on the child's private parts after she returned home from school on September 15. The mother claimed in the complaint that an older schoolboy had lured the toddler into a washroom under the pretext of offering biscuits, taped her mouth, and committed the assault.
Armed with these allegations, the father gathered local villagers and staged a massive protest at the school on September 17. The school principal denied that any such incident took place within the premises. Authorities subsequently scrutinized all available CCTV camera recordings from the campus, but the surveillance footage showed no evidence of any misconduct or suspicious interaction involving the child.
How Suspicion Shifted to the Parents
Given the sensitivity and gravity of the allegations, Meham DSP Tanuj Sharma initiated an intensive inquiry. Over the course of the investigation, the child gave two formal statements and attended two initial counseling sessions. Throughout these first two interactions, the girl repeated the name of the school student as instructed. However, CWC Rohtak Chairman Advocate Satish Kaushik observed red flags regarding the behavior of the parents. During both initial sessions, the parents repeatedly intervened, speaking over the child and answering questions on her behalf instead of allowing her to respond naturally.
Truth Disclosed in Private Session
Recognizing the coercive dynamic, counselors arranged a third session where the child was spoken to entirely in private, away from both parents. Without parental pressure in the room, the girl disclosed the reality, directly naming her mother and father in connection with the ordeal. The counseling team immediately briefed the police on this breakthrough.
Confronted with the child's private testimony during intensive interrogation, the mother confessed to the sequence of events. She admitted that the abuse took place in her direct presence, but she actively concealed the crime and supported the fabricated complaint against the school. Upon subsequent questioning, the father also broke down and confessed to the offense, leading police to secure a five-day remand to complete the investigation.
