A severe confrontation involving illegal mining operators unfolded in Sarawan village under the Sadhaura area of Haryana's Yamunanagar district, where an attempt was made to strike and crush the official vehicle of Bilaspur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kuldeep Singh. The incident took place when the officer attempted to intercept a commercial dumper transport vehicle laden with illegal mined minerals, while an accompanying Creta passenger car actively blocked the administrative team from advancing. Following a written complaint submitted by the administrative officer, the police registered a late-night criminal case against the drivers and occupants involved.
Suspicious Dumper Spotted During Run for Unity Event
The sequence of events began while a public Run for Unity gathering was taking place in Sarawan village. During the event, SDM Kuldeep Singh noticed a dumper carrying mined material moving at dangerously high speed along the rural corridor. Given that this specific roadway had previously been the site of multiple serious vehicular accidents, the administrator instructed his official driver to trail the heavy vehicle and bring it to an immediate halt for verification.
Creta Car Blocks Pursuit as Dumper Attempts Direct Collision
As the SDM's vehicle began following the dumper, a Creta automobile travelling directly ahead of the heavy transport began deliberately obstructing the route. Despite repeated horn signals from the officer's driver demanding passage, the driver of the Creta refused to clear the road. When the administrative driver managed to maneuver alongside to signal the dumper to stop, the dumper operator made an aggressive attempt to ram the officer's vehicle and run over it. After attempting the vehicular strike, the dumper driver accelerated rapidly and fled the immediate scene.
Formal Complaint Filed at Sadhaura Police Station
Treating the assault attempt with utmost gravity, SDM Kuldeep Singh submitted a formal written complaint at the Sadhaura police station detailing the actions of both the dumper driver and the occupants of the Creta vehicle. Acting upon the official complaint, police personnel registered an official case late at night. The administrative officer affirmed that operations against unauthorized mineral extraction will continue unabated, underscoring that illegal mining will not be permitted within the administrative boundary under state directives.
