Investigators in Haryana have apprehended three individuals in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old student inside a dilapidated structure in Greater Faridabad. Disclosing details of the police action on Thursday, law enforcement authorities confirmed that the detained suspects are undergoing intensive questioning to verify the precise sequence of events surrounding the incident.
Sequence of Events and the Secluded Structure
According to facts established during the initial inquiry, the incident took place on August 24. The 13-year-old girl had gone to meet a 16-year-old male friend shortly after finishing her tuition classes. The two minors subsequently entered an abandoned and rundown building situated within the Greater Faridabad sector. The complaint submitted by the girl's parents stated that a group of around six young men allegedly trailed them into the isolated structure, cornered and threatened both minors, and proceeded to assault the young girl.
Month-Long Silence Broken by Parental Intervention
A senior police official explained that the traumatized adolescents withheld the harrowing ordeal from their households for approximately an entire month out of sheer terror. Over the ensuing weeks, however, the young girl began displaying symptoms of severe psychological distress and withdrawal. Observing her deteriorating emotional state, her mother initiated a concerned conversation to understand the underlying cause. The girl broke down and recounted the entire episode, prompting the distressed family to immediately approach the authorities for intervention.
Police Registration and Progress of Inquiry
Acting on the formal complaint, Faridabad Police registered a First Information Report on September 29 at the BPTP police station under relevant provisions covering sexual assault. While allegations surfaced claiming the assailants also committed an unnatural act against the 16-year-old boy, investigating officials have refuted that specific claim. A spokesperson for Faridabad Police noted that while an FIR invoking rape sections was registered on September 29, formal confirmation regarding gang rape charges remains subject to ongoing verification. Officials confirmed that three detained suspects remain under interrogation as officers work to clarify all roles and track any additional persons involved.
