A 35-year-old NRI engineer, Pranjil Pathak, was found dead inside a hotel room in Sector 53 of Gurugram on Tuesday. Hotel staff discovered him unresponsive inside a hot tub within his room, after which a doctor called to the scene pronounced him dead. Pathak had recently arrived in India from the United Kingdom. Employed as an Engineer in Manchester
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Pranjil Pathak, a resident of Old Idgah Colony in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Checked into Sector 53 Hotel After Airport Visit
After his companion boarded the aircraft, Pathak decided to book a hotel room in Sector 53, Gurugram, to spend the night. He took the room late at night. The following evening, around 8 PM, hotel employees grew suspicious regarding the room and conducted a check. Upon inspection, they found Pathak lying unconscious inside the hot tub. A medical professional was summoned immediately, but upon examination, declared that he had passed away. Sector 53 police and forensic investigators subsequently sealed the scene to preserve evidence.
CCTV Examination and Crime Scene Analysis
A senior police officer handling the inquiry stated that investigators thoroughly reviewed security camera footage across the hotel premises. The examination included cameras positioned along the third floor where the room was located, as well as those monitoring the main entrance and exit points. The footage confirmed that no outside individual entered the room after Pathak, and he was alone inside. Forensics teams inspected the surroundings to gather clues regarding the circumstances leading up to his collapse.
Cause of Death Awaits Autopsy as Family Contacted
Law enforcement officials emphasized that the precise cause of death has not yet been determined. Hotel staff members have been questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry, and officials are looking into every potential angle. Authorities have contacted Pathak's family members in Agra to inform them of the tragedy. Police noted that further legal formalities and the autopsy will proceed once the relatives arrive in Gurugram, which will help establish how the engineer died.
