Palamu district in Jharkhand is preparing to host a massive employment drive aimed at providing job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the region. Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 initiative, a series of block-level employment generation fairs and mobilization camps will be organized across various blocks of the district. This comprehensive drive is designed to connect local job seekers with prominent employers from both within Jharkhand and other states, offering a wide array of career options tailored to different educational backgrounds.
According to the official schedule released by the Palamu district administration, this extensive recruitment campaign will take place between September 24 and September 29, 2026. The job fair is highly inclusive, opening doors for candidates with varied qualifications starting from those who have passed the 5th grade up to graduates, ITI holders, diploma holders, and those with BA and BTech degrees. JSLPS DPM Anita Kerketta highlighted that the recruitment drive is specifically targeted at young individuals falling within the age group of 18 to 35 years. The involvement of out-of-state companies along with local employers ensures a diverse pool of opportunities for the aspiring youth.
Block-wise Event Schedule and Targeted Participation
To ensure maximum accessibility for candidates residing in rural and semi-urban pockets of the district, the recruitment drive has been structured to move across different block campuses on successive days. The series of events will kick off on September 24 at the Chhatarpur block campus. On the following day, September 25, the recruitment activities will shift to the Hussainabad block campus. On September 26, the fair will be hosted at the Bishrampur block campus. After a brief gap, the campaign will resume on September 28 at the Panki block campus, concluding on September 29 at the Manatu block campus. Candidates from neighboring blocks are also highly encouraged to visit these designated venues to explore the job roles. The district administration has set an ambitious target of facilitating the participation of approximately 1000 job seekers at each of these block-level events.
Diverse Job Roles and Available Vacancies
A substantial number of employment opportunities will be up for grabs during this multi-day event. According to Anita Kerketta, a total of 15 employing companies will be participating in the fair, collectively bringing 6,695 vacant positions. This massive recruitment pool spans several technical, non-technical, and semi-skilled domains. The specific job roles on offer include those of operators, SMO, production executives, trainees, and various positions associated with the automobile industry. In addition to these, employers are also looking to hire individuals for positions such as picker-packers, scanners, junior operators, and robotic machine operators, among several other operational roles.
Participating Recruiters, Salary Packages, and Benefits
The job fair will feature representation from several reputed companies. Notable employers participating in the recruitment drive include Tata Electronics, Kohler Jerseys, Bharat Silks, Honda Motorcycle & Scooters India, Indo MIM, Yovex Innovation & Technology, and Shankar Enterprises, among other recruiters. Educational requirements are highly flexible; while some roles are open to candidates who have cleared 5th or 8th grade, others demand higher credentials such as 10th pass, 12th pass, ITI, diploma, graduation, or BTech. According to the company details, the selected candidates will receive monthly CTC packages ranging from approximately 12,000 INR to more than 30,000 INR depending on the role. Furthermore, several positions will offer additional benefits such as PF, ESI, canteen facilities, accommodation, meals, transport services, and bonuses. Palamu Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat has urged the local youth to make the most of this opportunity and has instructed all Block Development Officers to ensure the successful execution of the fairs as per the scheduled dates.
