Farmer Dipesh from Ranchi has achieved remarkable success through dedicated farming and smart agricultural practices. He recently generated an income of two lakh rupees by cultivating high-quality okra on a one-acre plot of land. The standard of his crop was so impressive that healthy okra plants can still be spotted standing in his fields.
Upcoming Winter Crop Plans
Building on the success of his okra harvest, Dipesh is now actively planning to cultivate cabbage and cauliflower for the approaching winter season. He intends to grow both of these vegetables across a one-acre area. He firmly believes that if the quality of these winter vegetables turns out to be equally exceptional, he will secure a bumper financial return in the market.
Secret Behind Soil Preparation and Organic Manure
According to farmer Dipesh, rich and healthy soil is an absolute prerequisite for successful farming. He prepares his own fertilizer by utilizing aged cow dung manure. He has access to organic manure that is up to 10 years old, which he regularly applies to nourish his farmland.
Since he keeps cows and buffaloes at his home, acquiring sufficient manure is never an issue. Before starting a fresh agricultural season, he incorporates 7-year-old manure into the soil along with measured amounts of lime and potash. The application of potash gives vegetables like cabbage a smooth and appealing appearance, making them significantly easier to sell at attractive prices in the local market.
Neem and Garlic Pest Control Formula
To protect his crops effectively from harmful pests, Dipesh relies on a natural solution made from neem and garlic. He soaks fresh neem leaves and garlic cloves in five liters of water for a duration of 10 to 12 days. Once the mixture is ready, this liquid is poured directly into the roots of the plants to ward off infestations.
Furthermore, he spends four to five hours in his fields every single day, closely inspecting the health of every plant. While he does make use of commercial pesticides available in the marketplace when necessary, he considers his homemade neem and garlic concoction to be the most reliable and efficient method.
