Bengaluru residents stepped into a wet and overcast Tuesday morning, with the city logging temperatures of around 22°C and humidity touching 88%. Thick cloud cover has settled across the sky, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms at one or two places in the city over the next 24 hours.
What Bengaluru Can Expect Through the Day
Cloudy conditions are set to linger throughout Tuesday. A thunderstorm is likely in the morning, followed by brief and intermittent spells of rain across different pockets of the city. IMD has also flagged gusty winds blowing at 30 to 40 kmph alongside the showers.
Districts Under Rain and Thunderstorm Alert
The warning stretches well beyond the city itself. IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds at many places across these districts:
- Ballari
- Bengaluru Urban
- Bengaluru Rural
- Chikkaballapura
- Chitradurga
- Kolar
- Mandya
- Ramanagara

Showers and thunderstorms are also expected across South Interior Karnataka and the Malnad region, covering Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, and Davanagere.
Heavy Rainfall Warning for Coastal Karnataka
IMD has put Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada under a heavy rainfall warning for the next 24 hours. For the broader Coastal Karnataka belt, heavy to very heavy rainfall measuring between 64.5 mm and 204.4 mm is likely at one or two locations from June 22 to June 28.
Heat and Humidity Alert for North Interior Karnataka
While most of Karnataka braces for rain, people in North Interior Karnataka are in for a different kind of discomfort. IMD has put this region under a hot and humid weather warning for the next two days, advising residents to keep themselves well hydrated and to avoid going out during the hottest hours of the afternoon.
Bengaluru Weather Outlook for the Rest of the Week
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be breezy, with isolated thunderstorms arriving in the afternoon and evening. Friday and Saturday will likely bring cloudy skies with thunderstorms. On Sunday, breezy conditions are set to return alongside an afternoon thunderstorm. Altogether, wet and unsettled weather looks set to continue across Bengaluru right through the week.
