A dedicated cultural and shopping exhibition has arrived in the heart of the national capital for the festive season. Taking place in the open space of the State Emporia Complex on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place, The Grand Expo 2026 presents an extensive display of authentic indigenous creations. The event officially commenced on October 22 and is scheduled to welcome visitors through November 5, 2026. Artisans, weavers, and independent micro-entrepreneurs travelling from varied regions of India have set up stalls to showcase and sell their crafts directly to urban buyers.
Extensive Range of Festive Home Decor, Apparel, and Regional Delicacies
Shoppers looking to renovate or decorate their homes will find a diverse assortment of authentic goods across the venue. The displays feature handcrafted pottery, terracotta ornaments, traditional ethnic jewelry, and handwoven textiles suited for festive celebrations. Contemporary fashion elements blend alongside age-old regional craft forms, providing plenty of choices for those seeking alternatives to mass-produced market merchandise. Beyond lifestyle and decorative items, visitors can also sample an assortment of regional culinary specialties representing multiple Indian states.
Platform to Support Grassroots Artisans and Micro Enterprises
The expo is organised by the Art and Craft Development Institute and operates with backing from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The fundamental aim behind the initiative is to bridge the gap between traditional craftspeople and metropolitan consumers, removing intermediaries and providing artisans with full commercial value for their labor. During the inaugural ceremony, former Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Rashtriya Lok Dal Parliamentary Board K. C. Tyagi addressed the gathering. Tyagi stated that achieving a self-reliant India will remain incomplete without providing adequate employment and economic avenues to grassroots artisans. Rajkumar Kashyap, secretary of the organizing institute, explained that platforms of this nature allow rural craftspeople to interact directly with large urban consumer bases while actively strengthening domestic indigenous manufacturing.
Visiting Hours, Venue Guidelines, and Access Details
For visitors organizing their festive shopping trips, entry to the expo grounds is completely free of charge for the general public. The stalls operate daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm until the closing date of November 5. The exhibition serves as both a central marketplace for festive gifts and home decorations, as well as an accessible window into the wide array of traditional art and artisanal skills cultivated across India.
