Following her husband's demise, she has been residing with her children. She explained that in the year 2024, she had visited Sagar to participate in a relative's wedding function. It was during that family gathering that she first met Suraj Jatav. Following that initial encounter, the two began interacting over Instagram. However, persistent conflict surrounding marriage eventually escalated into the violent ambush.

Following his arrest, the police paraded the accused publicly along the road in the area. During the walk under police custody, Suraj Jatav was seen holding his ears and tendering public apologies.
