Law enforcement authorities in the Kapurthala district of Punjab have intensified their investigation into the vandalism and property damage reported at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara. Officers from the Satnampura police station have arrested three individuals suspected of direct involvement in damaging campus infrastructure and orchestrating disturbances. In response to the unrest, police leadership has established two dedicated Special Investigation Teams to conduct a thorough inquiry into every aspect of the incident.
Dual Investigation Teams Scan Footage and Electronic Clues
A total of three First Information Reports have been registered in connection with the campus unrest. The two investigative squads have been assigned specific components of the registered cases, focusing on collecting admissible forensic material and locating others who participated in the disorder. Investigators are reviewing video recordings captured by closed-circuit surveillance devices installed both inside the university grounds and along adjacent transit routes. Police are placing significant emphasis on digital evidence, including mobile phone clips and communications data, to trace every individual who contributed to property destruction.
Court Presentation and Custody Application
Following the arrests, personnel from Satnampura police station produced all three suspects before the local court in Phagwara. Seeking deeper interrogation to uncover the wider network of participants, the prosecuting team formally requested a three-day police remand. While formal details surrounding the complete backgrounds of the detained individuals remain largely restricted by authorities, interrogators aim to extract specifics regarding how the gathering formed and who initiated the physical damage.
Family Questions Detention Grounds
Among those taken into custody is a young man identified as Gagan, whose relatives have raised concerns regarding the nature of his apprehension. According to family members, he had been unaccounted for since the previous day. He reportedly placed a brief telephone call to alert his household shortly before his court appearance, prompting his maternal uncle to rush to the judicial complex.
Speaking on the matter, the uncle noted that police personnel did not clearly explain the specific legal charges or evidence under which he was apprehended. The family maintains that he has no prior criminal complaints or record of wrongdoing. Relatives stated that he works as a delivery boy for Dominos, a job he secured approximately one and a half months ago. Investigators continue to match technical data to verify individual presence and activities during the disturbance.
