A disturbing incident of ambush and assault has surfaced from Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, where an online trap led to a brutal physical attack on an unsuspecting young man. Pradeep Bhilala, a resident of Jirapur, was allegedly contacted on Instagram through a fake profile masquerading as a young woman. After building a conversation, the account handler persuaded him to meet in person at the Bag Wale Balaji area in Apna Nagar, located in the town of Biaora. However, upon reaching the rendezvous point, no female acquaintance appeared; instead, a hostile group was waiting in ambush.
Ambushed in the Dark and Thrashed without Warning
Recounting the sequence of events, Pradeep stated that he arrived late in the evening following directions received via social media direct messages. As soon as he arrived at the specified spot, a group of youths surrounded him without uttering a single word or initiating any dialogue. The attackers, armed with heavy belts and plastic pipes, began assaulting him ruthlessly from all directions. Despite enduring severe blows across his body, Pradeep managed to break away from the cordon and escape to safety. He was initially rushed to the local civil hospital in critical condition and subsequently moved to a private medical facility for specialized treatment.
Police Apprehend Five Attackers Following Formal Complaint
Following the survivor's formal report at the local police station, law enforcement authorities initiated an immediate investigation. Biaora City Police Station in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan confirmed that a criminal case was registered promptly after receiving information about the unprovoked assault. Acting swiftly, police teams conducted raids and took five suspects into custody. Officials revealed that among those detained, two are adults while three are minors. An additional suspect managed to evade the initial police net, and active search operations are currently underway to apprehend him.
Technical Probe into Account Origin Amid Public Outcry
Police officials noted that the violent confrontation took place around 8:30 PM in Apna Nagar when five to six youths engaged in an unprovoked scuffle and assault against the Jirapur resident. Cyber investigators are now closely scrutinizing the digital footprints of the specific Instagram profile used to lure Pradeep to the location. Following the assault, graphic images showing the severe injuries inflicted on the victim circulated widely across social media platforms. The incident has triggered sharp public resentment in the town, with residents demanding stringent punitive action against anti-social elements using digital platforms to coordinate violent crimes.
