Panic swept through a private school campus in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, after a former student walked in and carried out a knife attack on a teacher. The assault grew from a long-held grudge and was captured in full by CCTV cameras installed on the school premises.
He Came for a Transfer Certificate and Arrived Carrying a Knife
The accused, aged 17, had previously been enrolled at the school before he failed his class 9 examination and stopped attending. On the day of the incident, he returned to the school to collect his Transfer Certificate (TC) from the administration. He had long held the belief that the teacher had deliberately caused his failure, and he arrived at the school already harbouring deep resentment toward the teacher.
A Minor Argument Quickly Turned Violent
While at the school to pick up the TC, the accused got into a brief verbal dispute with teacher Vishal Francis Dusing. The exchange escalated rapidly. The student pulled out a knife he had concealed on his person and stabbed Dusing in the abdomen. The attack sent the school campus into immediate chaos. Despite his serious injuries, the teacher managed to take cover behind a table to protect himself from further harm.
Teacher Admitted to Ghati Hospital
The injured teacher has been identified as Vishal Francis Dusing, a resident of Pethe Nagar who is employed at Little Flower School. He sustained serious injuries in the stabbing and was rushed to Ghati Hospital immediately after the attack. He is currently receiving medical treatment there.
CCTV Footage Secured, Police Begin Probe
The full sequence of events was recorded by CCTV cameras on the school grounds. Police reached the scene shortly after being informed of the incident and conducted a thorough inspection of the school campus. They took possession of the CCTV footage and launched a formal investigation.
Case Filed Against Accused, Chhavni Police Investigating
A case has been registered against the 17-year-old former student on the basis of the CCTV evidence. Further investigation into the matter is being carried out by the Chhavni Police. Preliminary findings indicate that the accused had been nursing a grievance against the teacher well before the day of the attack, and that this prior animosity drove the assault. Investigators are now working to establish whether the attack was planned in advance or whether the student acted on impulse during the argument over the TC that day.
