State administrations in both Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have introduced notable organizational adjustments, assigning new responsibilities to multiple civil servants across vital departments. In Maharashtra, the General Administration Department issued relocation directives on Monday for three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, altering leadership portfolios at the state secretariat in Mumbai as well as in regional administration.
Portfolio Realignments in Maharashtra Secretariat and Divisional Office
Under the freshly notified postings in Maharashtra, 1996-batch IAS officer Sanjay Khandare has been designated as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department. Prior to this transfer, he was serving as the Additional Chief Secretary overseeing Tourism. Following the transfer order from the General Administration Department, his workstation is established at the state secretariat, Mantralaya, in Mumbai, where he will lead initiatives tied to forestry and conservation governance.
Simultaneously, the stewardship of the Tourism Department has transitioned to 2009-batch IAS officer Sanjay Yadav, who has been designated as Secretary of Tourism. Sanjay Yadav was previously posted in Mumbai as the State Project Director for Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. He now moves into Mantralaya to drive statewide tourism infrastructure, projects, and administrative strategies.
The realignment in the state also encompasses Vaishnavi B., an IAS officer from the 2019 batch. She has been posted to Nagpur division as the Additional Divisional Commissioner, taking on administrative oversight of regional civic affairs and divisional coordination.
Large-Scale Shake-Up in Uttar Pradesh: 15 IAS Officers Relocated
These developments coincide with an expansive administrative overhaul executed by the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh, shifting fifteen IAS officers and twenty-three Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers into new roles across housing, health, education, and district development.
Within the Uttar Pradesh IAS cadre, Rakesh Kumar Singh has been inducted as Additional Commissioner at the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board. To oversee state dairy development operations, Neeraj Shukla has taken charge as Managing Director of PCDF. Meanwhile, Dr. Chandra Bhushan has been appointed Additional Director at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration and Management.
Healthcare and medical training administration also observed substantial postings. Sachin Kumar Singh has been designated Special Secretary for Medical Education, while Prakash Bindu takes charge as Secretary in the same department. State medical supply chain logistics will now be headed by Jeribha, appointed as Managing Director of the UP Medical Supplies Corporation. In academia, Archana Gaharwar has stepped in as Registrar of AKTU, and Reena Singh has assumed the registrarship at KGMU.
At the grassroots and district administrative tier, Dhruv Khadiya has been deployed as Chief Development Officer (CDO) in Mathura, and Narendra Bahadur Singh has been posted as CDO in Jaunpur. Vivek Kumar Srivastava has joined the Board of Revenue in Prayagraj as Member (Judicial). Shrihari Pratap Shahi has been tasked with heading the Directorate of Panchayati Raj, and Amit Kumar Singh has also taken on leadership as Managing Director of PCDF. The Department of Geology and Mining saw appointments at the leadership tier as well, with Mala Srivastava named Secretary and Director, accompanied by Dr. Ujjwal Kumar as Special Secretary and Director.
Transfers Extended to 23 PCS Cadre Officers in Uttar Pradesh
Parallel to the IAS relocations, the Uttar Pradesh administration reassigned twenty-three PCS officers to handle municipal governance, administrative magistrate responsibilities, and agrarian university management.
For district revenue governance, Chandresh Kumar has been assigned as Chief Revenue Officer in Deoria. Key district magisterial support positions were assigned to Gyanendra Vikram as ADM (Judicial) in Sant Kabir Nagar, Lavi Tripathi as ADM (Administration) in Saharanpur, and Pushpendra Patel as ADM (Administration) in Rampur.
Within urban governance and city development bodies, Rajesh Kumar has taken office as Additional Municipal Commissioner in Meerut, while Brijesh Kumar Singh has been positioned as Secretary of the Meerut Development Authority. In specialized institutions, Arpit Gupta has been placed as Registrar at Banda Agriculture University, Vijay Shankar as Registrar at Mahatma Buddha Agriculture University in Kushinagar, and Abhinav Kannaujia has been designated Joint Milk Commissioner.
