A fresh twist has unfolded in the ongoing investigation surrounding the fake Prime Minister's Office identity card and the suspicious movement of individuals near a high-profile venue in Mumbai. According to inputs from Mumbai Police sources, Rohan Parekh did not receive any email whatsoever from the Prime Minister's Office, rendering his claims about official correspondence completely false and misleading. Amidst these unfolding details, aggressive behavior from the accused family members has also come to light.
Crime Branch Interrogation and Outburst
As part of the ongoing probe, the Crime Branch questioned Premal Parekh, the father of Rohan Parekh. When media representatives attempted to ask questions following the interrogation, tensions flared up. The accused's father grew aggressive and struck out at the media camera, refusing to answer any queries. Following the questioning session, the family departed from the premises in their luxury vehicle.
Court Remands Accused to Police Custody
Both suspects were arrested on September 8, and a metropolitan magistrate court subsequently remanded them to police custody until September 11. They face serious allegations of trespassing into a luxury shopping mall located in the Bandra Kurla Complex area while carrying an unauthorized weapon and a fabricated PMO identity card.
Events at Jio World Plaza
The arrests of 24-year-old Rohan Parekh and 49-year-old Dilip Kunde followed an incident on Monday evening at the Jio World Plaza. Security guards intervened and stopped the duo because Kunde was carrying a firearm. During the ensuing argument, one of the accused displayed a digital identity card on his mobile phone, falsely claiming he was an official connected to the Prime Minister's Office.
No Direct Link to Prime Minister's Event
Initially, a senior police official noted that the self-proclaimed PMO official and his armed bodyguard were detained just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled event at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex. However, police later clarified that the security breach incident had no connection whatsoever to the Prime Minister's inauguration of the Global Fintech Fest 2026.
