The tragic incident occurred at approximately 2:00 PM on Saturday along the busy Ramtek-Mauda Highway. Specifically, the site of the accident was located at the Mohanlal Shankarlal Agrawal Agro Private Limited facility, which sits roughly 50 kilometers away from the main city of Nagpur. The three victims, aged between 18 and 20 years, had migrated from Bihar to earn a living. They were employed at a rice mill operating within the agro company's premises. The police identified the three young men as Gulshan Kumar, a resident of Purnia district, Rupesh Kumar from Khagaria district, and Manish Kumar, who also hailed from Purnia.
How the Farm Pond Drowning Unfolded
According to the police investigation, the three teenagers had finished their daily shifts at the mill and decided to head to the nearby agricultural field pond to cool off and bathe. However, the workers were reportedly unable to gauge the actual depth of the artificial pond, which is estimated to be around 15 to 20 feet deep. Furthermore, none of the three young men knew how to swim. Upon entering the water, they quickly lost their footing and balance, leading to them drowning in the deep pool. This incident adds to a series of water tragedies, reminiscent of another case where three youths drowned in Sanjay Lake.
Upon receiving information about the tragic incident, the Ramtek police immediately mobilized emergency teams to the spot. The victim, identified as Krishna Anil Vishwakarma, had gone to the coastal area near Kalamb Beach in Nalasopara. According to his family members, the incident took place around 12:00 PM on Sunday. Krishna reportedly stepped into the sea, but within moments of entering the water, he was caught off guard and swept away by powerful, high-tide waves.
Although several people were present on the beach at the time, they were unable to swim out to rescue him due to the sheer depth of the water and the intense force of the ocean currents. Family members shared that local police officers along with some brave bystanders made desperate attempts to save the young creator, but their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful as the strong sea waves dragged him under.
