Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming elections to Panchayati Raj institutions in Rajasthan, with administrative measures focused on voter convenience. To ensure that citizens do not face difficulties locating their polling booths on voting day, the State Election Commission has issued explicit directives to set up voter assistance centers at all polling buildings across the district.
Dedicated officers at assistance desks
Booth Level Officers will be deployed at these specialized assistance desks. These officials will be equipped with complete electoral rolls corresponding to their respective polling buildings. Voters can simply visit these centers, provide their names, and easily obtain accurate information regarding their designated polling booth and voter serial number without unnecessary wandering.
Addressing delimitation and dense population challenges
District Election Officer Dr. Arun Garg explained that recent delimitation processes have altered ward and polling station boundaries in various areas. Additionally, densely populated localities often feature multiple booths housed within a single building. These assistance centers are being established precisely to guide voters correctly through these complexities and eliminate any confusion.
Extra personnel for high-capacity polling locations
Polling buildings accommodating up to five booths will have two assistants assigned alongside the primary BLO. For locations housing more than five booths, additional personnel will be arranged based on specific requirements. Furthermore, authorities have made it mandatory to arrange tables, chairs, and proper shaded areas at these assistance desks to protect voters from heat and direct sunlight.
