Law enforcement authorities in the Alwar district have successfully uncovered a calculated criminal syndicate that utilized digital platforms to ensnare business owners before abducting and robbing them. The local police station in Aravalli Vihar managed to apprehend two primary suspects linked to this organized network. Along with the arrests, the authorities have also seized the Swift Dzire vehicle that was actively deployed during the commission of the crime. This operation sheds light on the rising threats posed by cyber-enabled physical traps designed to target unsuspecting commercial visitors from other regions.
The Plot and Execution of the Abduction
District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary briefed the media regarding the breakthrough, explaining that a specialized team was formed under the direct supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Deepak Kumar and Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilip Meena as part of an ongoing statewide drive against cyber fraud and organized gangs. According to the police investigation, the perpetrators made initial contact with a trader hailing from Gujarat through social media channels. They dangled the bait of heavily discounted goods, successfully persuading him to travel to Alwar for a business transaction. Upon the trader's arrival, the gang members welcomed him into their car under the guise of traveling to a meeting point, but instead drove toward the expressway. In an isolated patch of land, the victim was subjected to physical assault, terrorized with threats of execution, and stripped of his cash. Furthermore, the culprits coerced the distressed trader into transferring funds online into fraudulent bank accounts under extreme duress.
Crucial Breakthrough via CCTV Footage
Recognizing the severity of the offense, the Aravalli Vihar police launched an immediate and intensive investigation. The assigned police team combed through the video feeds of more than 50 CCTV cameras installed across various city routes and surrounding areas. This meticulous technical review helped identify a suspicious Swift Dzire car utilized in the operation. Upon tracing the registered owner of the vehicle, investigators discovered that the car had been hired on rent. Armed with this vital clue, the police tracked the suspects to their hideout and executed the arrests.
Uncovering Further Crimes and Ongoing Manhunt
During preliminary interrogations, the detained suspects confessed that they regularly employed this modus operandi, leveraging social media connections to lure merchants from neighboring states to Alwar specifically to perpetrate robberies. Police officials noted that this operates as a structured and coordinated gang. Presently, law enforcement agencies are actively hunting down the remaining fugitives associated with the ring while continuing extensive questioning to uncover details of any similar unsolved offenses committed by the group.
