In a major counter-terrorism operation, the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) acting on specific intelligence inputs from a Central Intelligence Agency has apprehended two men from Uttar Pradesh in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka. The suspect duo is currently under investigation for alleged operational links with Pakistan and the terrorist outfit ISIS. Law enforcement personnel carried out the targeted raid on the outskirts of Uplam village within Kalaburagi taluk, taking both individuals into custody for detailed interrogation regarding their activities.
Employment at Meat Processing Facility
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Mohammad Samir and Salman, both hailing originally from Uttar Pradesh. Prior to their arrest, the two men were employed at a local meat unit named 'Fair Exports' beef factory in Kalaburagi. Following intelligence directives, the Uttar Pradesh ATS team initiated the arrest procedure and is presently questioning the suspects at an undisclosed location in Kalaburagi to unravel the extent of their network and potential communication channels.
Seizure of Maps from Suspect Quarters
During the raid, ATS officials conducted a thorough search of the premises where the suspects resided. Investigating officers recovered several maps from the room occupied by Mohammad Samir. The discovery of these maps has heightened scrutiny over the purpose of their stay and potential reconnaissance activities. To formally initiate legal proceedings, an official case has been registered in connection with the seizure at the local University Police Station.
Heightened Surveillance on Illegal Stay in Karnataka
This enforcement action follows another significant security incident in the state. Earlier on July 11, authorities in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur district arrested a Pakistani woman and her son who were residing illegally in Dasagarepalli village. The Bagepalli police identified the individuals as Farha Naz and her son Mohammad Fardeen Khan. Investigations revealed that Farha Naz had married a local resident of Dasagarepalli village and continued to stay in India alongside her son long after their visa validity had expired. Law enforcement agencies seized multiple Indian identification documents from their possession, which remain under strict verification as part of ongoing scrutiny against illegal foreign residents.
