An Air India flight traveling from Phuket to New Delhi ran into severe air turbulence, creating moments of absolute terror for everyone on board as passengers feared for their lives. The unexpected atmospheric disturbance turned a routine journey into a harrowing ordeal high above the clouds.
Violent Shaking Leaves Passengers Terrified
Caught in the violent grip of the air turbulence, the aircraft thrashed about in a manner resembling a fish gasping out of water. The sudden and intense vertical drops and jerks were so powerful that standard seatbelts failed to keep seated passengers from being tossed around. Tears welled up in the eyes of terrified travelers who believed they might not survive the ordeal as the cabin descended into chaos.
Child Thrown From Lap and Twelve Injured
Amidst the violent shaking and panic inside the cabin, the sheer force of the turbulence caused a young child to be dislodged from a mother's lap and thrown some distance away. In total, 12 people sustained injuries due to the violent jolts. This injured tally comprised 8 passengers and 4 flight crew members who were caught off guard while attending to duties or sitting in the cabin.
Immediate Hospitalization Upon Landing in Delhi
The flight eventually managed to touch down safely at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Upon landing, emergency medical response teams were immediately activated to assist the affected individuals. All 12 injured persons were swiftly rushed and admitted to Fortis Hospital and Medanta Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
