A brazen impersonation attempt during the ongoing Physical Endurance and Measurement Test for the Constable Executive post was foiled at the Delhi Police Academy in Wazirabad. A 19-year-old candidate named Akshit, residing in Sonipat, Haryana, had arranged for a proxy runner to complete the physical clearing stages on his behalf. The fraud unravelled when Akshit presented himself for the physical measurement stage looking completely fresh, devoid of any perspiration or dirt that would naturally follow an intense athletic workout.
Lack of Sweat and Fatigue After 1600-Metre Race Raised Alarms
Under the standard recruitment procedure for the physical endurance screening, participating candidates must first clear a rigorous set of athletic tasks, including a 1600-metre race, long jump, and high jump. Only candidates who successfully cross these hurdles proceed to the subsequent height and chest measurement counters. When Akshit stepped up for his physical measurement evaluation, police personnel noticed that his condition appeared entirely relaxed and unbothered. His body carried no sweat, nor were there any traces of dust from the track. This instantly aroused the suspicion of the monitoring staff. Furthermore, fellow candidates standing nearby alerted officials that Akshit was not the individual who had physically competed in the track events moments earlier.
Tampered Admit Card and Chest Number Swap Unravelled
Confronted by persistent questioning from the vigilant police personnel, Akshit broke down and revealed the entire plot. He disclosed that his brother had arranged for a proxy individual to step in and undertake the physical endurance tests in his place. The fake candidate secured access inside the testing facility using a tampered admit card. He cleared all mandatory drills, completing the 1600-metre sprint, the high jump, and the long jump under Akshit's credentials. Once the athletic events concluded, the impersonator handed over the assigned chest number to Akshit before slipping away. Akshit then wore the chest badge to project himself as the authentic candidate for the subsequent biometric verification and physical measurement screenings.
Accused Handed Over to Sonia Vihar Police Station for Probe
Following the detection of the fraudulent attempt, the academy officials handed Akshit over to the Sonia Vihar police station for formal legal proceedings. The local police initiated the process of registering a First Information Report in connection with the cheating and forgery scheme. Investigators are now focused on identifying and apprehending the absconding impersonator, uncovering how the tampered admit card was produced, and dismantling any organized network or individuals involved in orchestrating fraudulent entries into the police recruitment drive.
