The North Central Railway administration has announced a major operational update to significantly enhance passenger convenience and rail connectivity across key corridors. In response to heavy passenger demand, three pairs of special train services operating between Prayagraj and prominent industrial, commercial, and financial hubs such as Mumbai and Udhna (Surat) are being regularized under the prestigious Amrit Bharat Express category. Starting in late August, these services, which were previously run on temporary special train numbers, will officially transition into permanent scheduled trains. Railway authorities confirmed that this move will offer predictable schedules, enhanced travel comfort, and better seat availability for commuters traveling across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
Prayagraj to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express Schedule & Timings
Train number 20436, operating as the Prayagraj to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express, is scheduled to commence its regular service from 21 August. Operating every Friday, the train will depart from Prayagraj Junction at 18:10 hours (6:10 PM). En route to Mumbai, it will make scheduled departures from Satna at 21:00 hours, Jabalpur at 23:50 hours, Itarsi Junction at 03:45 hours, Bhusaval Junction at 07:55 hours, and Kalyan Junction at 14:15 hours. The service will reach its final destination, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), on Saturday afternoon at 15:45 hours. Previously, this service operated on the route as a special train bearing number 04151.
For the return leg, Train number 20435 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Prayagraj Amrit Bharat Express) will begin regular operations from 22 August. The train will depart from LTT every Saturday at 17:20 hours (5:20 PM). Following its departure from Mumbai, the train will make scheduled stops and depart from Kalyan at 18:00 hours, Bhusaval at 23:00 hours, Itarsi at 03:00 hours, Jabalpur at 06:10 hours, and Satna at 08:30 hours. The train will arrive at Prayagraj on Sunday afternoon at 12:40 hours. Prior to this notification, the return service operated under special train number 04152.
Prayagraj to Udhna (Surat) Amrit Bharat Express Complete Route Details
Connecting the sacred city of Prayagraj with Udhna, located adjacent to Gujarat's textile hub Surat, Train number 20437 (Prayagraj to Udhna Amrit Bharat Express) will start regular operations from 24 August. The service will depart from Prayagraj every Monday morning at 05:20 hours. As it traverses through Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, it will make departures from Fatehpur at 06:25 hours, Govindpuri at 08:00 hours, Etawah at 09:45 hours, Tundla at 11:50 hours, Idgah Agra at 12:40 hours, Bayana at 14:45 hours, Hindaun City at 15:05 hours, Gangapur City at 15:45 hours, Sawai Madhopur at 16:30 hours, Kota at 17:50 hours, Ramganj Mandi at 18:35 hours, Bhawani Mandi at 18:55 hours, Ratlam at 21:55 hours, and Vadodara at 01:55 hours. The train will arrive at Udhna early Tuesday morning at 04:05 hours. It previously ran between Subedarganj and Bandra Terminus as special train number 04125.
The return journey, designated as Train number 20438 (Udhna to Prayagraj Amrit Bharat Express), will operate every Tuesday starting 25 August. Departing from Udhna station at 06:45 hours in the morning, the train will depart from Vadodara at 08:50 hours, Ratlam at 12:50 hours, Bhawani Mandi at 14:50 hours, Ramganj Mandi at 15:07 hours, Kota at 16:30 hours, Sawai Madhopur at 17:45 hours, Gangapur City at 18:30 hours, Hindaun City at 19:05 hours, Bayana at 20:20 hours, Idgah Agra at 22:00 hours, Tundla at 23:47 hours, Etawah at 00:57 hours, Govindpuri at 03:30 hours, and Fatehpur at 04:42 hours. The train reaches Prayagraj on Wednesday morning at 07:30 hours. This return service previously ran as special train number 04126 on the Bandra Terminus to Subedarganj route.
Subedarganj to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express Operations
Serving Prayagraj's satellite station Subedarganj, Train number 14121 (Subedarganj to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express) will begin regular scheduled runs on 27 August. Departing every Thursday at 12:10 hours (12:10 PM) from Subedarganj, the train has scheduled departures from Fatehpur at 13:27 hours, Govindpuri at 15:05 hours, Bharuwa Sumerpur at 17:35 hours, Ragaul at 18:03 hours, Banda at 19:10 hours, Chitrakoot Dham Karwi at 21:07 hours, Satna at 00:25 hours, Maihar at 00:55 hours, Katni at 01:55 hours, Jabalpur at 03:25 hours, Narsinghpur at 04:35 hours, Pipariya at 05:42 hours, Itarsi at 07:55 hours, Khandwa at 11:20 hours, Bhusaval at 13:20 hours, Nashik Road at 16:55 hours, Kalyan at 19:50 hours, and Thane at 20:15 hours. It arrives at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai on Friday night at 20:50 hours. It formerly operated on the Subedarganj to LTT route under special train number 04115.
The corresponding return train, Train number 14122 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Subedarganj Amrit Bharat Express), will start regular service on 28 August. Departing from LTT every Friday night at 22:55 hours, the service will depart from Thane at 23:18 hours, Kalyan at 23:38 hours, Nashik Road at 02:20 hours, Bhusaval at 06:35 hours, Khandwa at 09:00 hours, Itarsi at 11:15 hours, Pipariya at 12:15 hours, Narsinghpur at 13:20 hours, Jabalpur at 14:45 hours, Katni at 16:45 hours, Maihar at 17:35 hours, Satna at 18:45 hours, Chitrakoot Dham Karwi at 22:02 hours, Banda at 23:45 hours, Ragaul at 00:18 hours, Bharuwa Sumerpur at 00:35 hours, Govindpuri at 02:15 hours, and Fatehpur at 03:52 hours. The train reaches Subedarganj on Sunday morning at 07:30 hours. It previously ran under special train number 04116.
Coach Composition and Train Amenities
According to specifications shared by North Central Railway, each of these three regularized Amrit Bharat Express trains will consist of a total composition of 22 coaches. The rakes feature 11 General Class coaches for unreserved travel and 8 Sleeper Class coaches for non-AC reserved journeys, alongside brake vans and luggage compartments. Amrit Bharat Express trains utilize push-pull technology with locos at both ends to ensure smoother acceleration, higher operating efficiency, and reduced travel duration compared to conventional passenger services.
