Children and teachers on board were trapped inside the bus throughout this period as rain continued to pour, with no way to safely step outside. During this long wait, the bus conductor walked nearly 1 kilometre through the rain to bring food for the stranded children and teachers, making sure no one had to stay hungry through the ordeal. Akhilesh Yadav cited this act in his post as an example of ordinary people stepping up out of a sense of duty and humanity.
