Along with the message, Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse.
Who was Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee is remembered as the founder of the Jana Sangh. He is known for the slogan that one country cannot have two constitutions, two heads of state and two flags. According to reports, he was known for thinking ahead of his time and dedicated his entire life to protecting the nation's unity, integrity and national self-respect. That is why he continues to be remembered every year on the days connected to his birth and his sacrifice.

In his post, Narendra Modi wrote that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's sacrifice for the unity, integrity and self-respect of India will keep inspiring every generation. He then shared a Sanskrit verse, Jayanti te sukritino rasasiddhah kavishwarah, nasti yesham yashahkaye jaramaranajam bhayam. The verse essentially means that virtuous people and great poets whose good deeds benefited society live on through their fame, and such glory never fears old age or death. Modi used the verse to describe Dr. Mukherjee's contribution as immortal.
Tributes across the country on his sacrifice day
On Dr. Mukherjee's sacrifice day, the BJP organised several programmes across the country. Special events were held at booths under the Baah Nagar Mandal, where workers paid floral tributes to him. A park in his name was also announced on the occasion. In Ranchi too, BJP leaders paid tribute to the founder of the Jana Sangh. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Sai also paid homage to Dr. Mukherjee on his sacrifice day. Leader Ghanshyam Tiwari said that Dr. Mukherjee had dedicated everything he had to protecting the nation's unity, integrity and national self-respect.
