Political activity in Alwar has intensified significantly with the upcoming municipal elections, drawing a large crowd of ticket hopefuls and their supporters to the local BJP office. Since morning, aspirants lined up to submit their application forms to Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma, advocating for their respective wards. During these interactions, several contenders urged the party leadership to give opportunities to fresh faces rather than repeatedly fielding former councillors or previous candidates.
Tickets To Be Distributed Based On Surveys
Addressing the demands of the workers, Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma assured everyone that ticket distribution will strictly rely on comprehensive survey outcomes. He noted that multiple levels of evaluation are underway within the organization, combining direct feedback from grassroots workers with internal party surveys. All ward panels will be finalized by August 26, paving the way for the release of the first candidate list ahead of August 27.
At Least Ten Aspirants Per Ward
Highlighting the intense competition within the ranks, the minister stated that every single ward has a minimum of ten contenders seeking the party ticket, with several wards seeing an even higher count. While only one person can receive the nomination per ward, he expressed confidence in the disciplined nature of party workers. He voiced hope that those who miss out on tickets will remain loyal to the organization rather than filing nominations as independent candidates.
Core Committee And Ward In-Charges Formed
To address potential dissent and persuade any rebel candidates, a dedicated core committee comprising senior leaders has been established. Additionally, the party has deployed specific in-charges across every ward to assess local dynamics and evaluate aspirants. These ground reports and the opinions of local workers will serve as the primary criteria for finalizing candidates.
Targeting A Two-Thirds Majority
Encouraged by the turnout and enthusiasm at the party office, the minister expressed optimism about securing a major victory in the civic elections. He emphasized that the party is entering the electoral fray with the clear objective of winning a two-thirds majority in the Alwar Municipal Corporation to install its own mayor and deputy mayor.
