Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Nabin made a major organizational announcement on Monday by revealing his fresh team of national office-bearers. While the new list reshuffles leadership across several states, notable among the omissions is Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. His exclusion has drawn attention because Punjab is scheduled to hold assembly elections early next year, and political observers had anticipated a significant organizational responsibility for the young lawmaker.
13 Vice Presidents Appointed in Major Organizational Shuffle
The newly formed BJP national committee features 13 National Vice Presidents representing various regions across India. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is among the most prominent figures appointed to this position. Beside her, Uttarakhand leader Tirath Singh Rawat, seasoned strategist Ram Madhav, and Odisha politician Baijayant Panda have been handed vice-presidential roles. The list of 13 National Vice Presidents comprises
- Vasundhara Raje: Former Chief Minister, Rajasthan
- Tirath Singh Rawat: Former Chief Minister, Uttarakhand
- Ram Madhav: Senior party leader
- Baijayant Panda: Senior party leader
- D. Purandeswari: Former Union Minister
- Rekha Verma: Senior organization leader
- Varsha Ben Narendrabhai Doshi: Organization leader
- Dr. Bharati Pawar: Former Union Minister of State
- Manpreet Singh Badal: Senior leader from Punjab
- Lal Singh Arya: Organization leader
- Prof. M. Nagaraja: Organization leader
- Prof. Tariq Mansoor: Former Vice Chancellor and leader
- Dr. Madhuchandra Kar: Organization leader
Key Organizational Roles and Treasury Positions
To ensure seamless operational coordination between the central leadership and state units, Nitin Nabin assigned crucial organizational posts to experienced hands. B.L. Santhosh from Delhi continues to hold the position of National General Secretary (Organization). Meanwhile, Shivprakash, based in Mumbai, has been designated as National Joint General Secretary (Organization), and Saudan Singh from Chandigarh takes on the role of National Joint General Secretary (Organization).
On the financial management side, Union Minister Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra has been appointed as National Treasurer, supported by Rajesh Mangal from Rajasthan as National Joint Treasurer. Furthermore, the newly unveiled lineup includes 16 National Secretaries chosen from diverse states to broaden regional representation.
Raghav Chadha's Political Switch and Punjab Context
The non-inclusion of Raghav Chadha comes months after his high-profile political switch. In April this year, Chadha resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP along with six other Rajya Sabha MPs, including prominent figures like Sandeep Pathak and Harbhajan Singh.
Given Chadha's active profile and the upcoming elections in Punjab slated for early next year, political analysts speculated that the BJP might leverage his political footprint in the state by placing him in the central organizational framework. However, the current appointments indicate that Nabin's team relies heavily on seasoned party loyalists for key roles in the central apparatus.
