Bareilly: All India Muslim Jamaat National President Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi has issued a fresh appeal to members of the Muslim community, urging them to halt verbal attacks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In his statement, he emphasized that adopting a positive mindset is far more productive and noted that Muslims are not solely responsible for defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party. He called upon the community to move past the politics of continuous opposition.
The Need to Shift Away From Negative Politics
Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi stated that it has become a common habit among community members to indulge in negative discussions about Yogi Adityanath and Narendra Modi whenever they gather. He addressed the community by pointing out that while they have engaged in opposition politics against the BJP since 2017, the time has now arrived to abandon this confrontational approach and move forward constructively. Persistently opposing everything has yielded no benefits for the community, necessitating a fresh outlook.
He added that over the past decade, the Samajwadi Party and various self-proclaimed secular factions have continuously provoked Muslims, rallying them against the BJP. This strategy directly benefited the Samajwadi Party while leaving the Muslim community marginalized and bearing all the losses. Consequently, community members must reevaluate the situation and alter their perspective to prevent further setbacks in the future.
Accusations Against the Samajwadi Party and Secular Leaders
The Maulana asserted that self-proclaimed secular parties, particularly leaders within the Samajwadi Party, have systematically misled and incited innocent and simple-minded Muslims. He highlighted that if a Muslim individual invites a BJP minister or MLA to a family wedding, leaders from the Samajwadi Party create an uproar and even announce a social boycott of that family.
Contrasting this with past alliances, the Maulana recalled how Mulayam Singh Yadav once joined hands with Kalyan Singh to form a government, inducting numerous BJP figures into his cabinet, including Azam Khan who served as a minister without resigning. Furthermore, Mulayam Singh prayed for Narendra Modi to become prime minister multiple times, and Akhilesh Yadav regularly meets BJP figures under the cover of darkness to set his own political agenda. He urged Muslims to recognize these double standards.
Focusing on the Future and Breaking the Cycle of Confrontation
The Maulana reiterated his request for Muslims to cease staging protests against the BJP everywhere they go and instead foster positive thinking in their hearts and minds. He suggested planning constructively for the future of their families and the development of the younger generation. The decade-long negative politics has pushed the community significantly backward.
He explained that this single-minded opposition has effectively stalled community progress. Secular parties and the Samajwadi Party pushed Muslims into aggressive demonstrations against the BJP, leading to physical confrontations where Muslims faced police batons and imprisonment, while political leaders comfortably reaped the rewards. He appealed to his brothers to understand the maneuvers of these politicians and focus on their own long-term prosperity.
This development follows earlier debates surrounding statements made by Maulana Madani, who raised concerns over the Vande Mataram bill by stating that Muslims worship only one Allah.
