During the ongoing debate on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi strongly defended the student demonstrations held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Addressing the House, he emphasized that the protests by young aspirants were driven by legitimate concerns regarding their academic and professional futures rather than any hostility or ill intent.

Rahul Gandhi noted that the younger generation has a deep understanding of global changes and evolving career challenges. He pointed out that the gathering of students on the streets of the national capital reflected a serious and mature expression of their rights. According to him, the movement was entirely peaceful, devoid of any anger, violence, or hatred, and served as a reminder of the aspirations of the nation's future workforce.
Call for Cross-Party Unity
Reaching out to members across the aisle, the Leader of the Opposition urged all political outfits, including members of the ruling BJP, to honor and acknowledge the voices of the youth. He suggested that if lawmakers were to discuss these issues with their own children, they would find widespread agreement with the concerns raised by the protesting students. Gandhi asserted that the nationwide movement by young citizens is something every Indian should feel proud of, as it represents a democratic effort to protect educational integrity.
