Internal friction within Bihar’s primary opposition party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has exploded into the public domain following a sharp verbal attack by party MLA Bhai Virendra. Speaking to journalists in the capital city of Patna, the legislator from the Maner constituency launched an aggressive tirade against party chief spokesperson Shakti Yadav without explicitly naming him. Responding furiously to a query regarding the spokesperson’s recent remarks, Bhai Virendra advised him to stay within his limits. Highlighting his senior tenure in state politics, the legislator asserted that he had been actively engaged in politics long before Shakti Yadav was even politically born.
Controversy Ignited by Calls to Remove Sycophants
The escalation follows a controversial statement made by Bhai Virendra a day prior, in which he argued that individuals acting as sycophants around leader Tejashwi Yadav ought to be removed immediately. Reacting to the MLA's remarks, RJD chief spokesperson Shakti Yadav publicly questioned Bhai Virendra's own contributions to the organization, asking what substantial work he had performed for the party. When reporters brought Shakti Yadav's counterquestion to Bhai Virendra's attention, the Maner legislator lost his composure and retaliated with severe personal allegations.
Allegations of Extortion and Political Loyalty
Asserting his political identity, Bhai Virendra declared himself a direct follower of party leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. He contrasted his intentions with those of his detractors, claiming that while his sole motivation in politics is to elevate Tejashwi Yadav to the position of Chief Minister, others are merely exploiting Tejashwi Yadav’s face to extract money from people. The legislator further remarked that he is not involved with individuals who deal in the supply of live hides. He cautioned his targets to rectify their conduct immediately, emphasizing that he possesses complete documentation of their misconduct.
Threats to Expose Personal History and Secrets
Expanding on his warning, the MLA threatened to make all confidential details of the spokesperson’s past public. He asserted that if he were to reveal the full record of deeds, the spokesperson would be unable to show his face in public. Bhai Virendra brought up personal aspects of the spokesperson's background, stating that he knows precisely why the individual had fled his home in the past, the underlying reasons for that escape, and the exact number of years it took before he returned back home. Concluding his statement, he warned the spokesperson to stay conscious of his actions and remain within his bounds.
Prior Legal Troubles and the Maner Constituency Case
This confrontation comes shortly after MLA Bhai Virendra made headlines over another controversy involving a viral video recording. In that earlier instance, the legislator from Maner was captured speaking in a intimidating tone to a local Panchayat Secretary. The Panchayat Secretary, however, stood his ground with complete confidence during the interaction. Following the widespread circulation of the audio and video footage, the Panchayat Secretary formally approached law enforcement authorities and lodged an official police complaint (FIR) against MLA Bhai Virendra. The ongoing internal feuding within the RJD now adds another layer of political tension in Bihar.
