A wave of profound grief has swept across Barnala district in Punjab following the tragic demise of 22-year-old Agniveer soldier Kulwinder Singh, who attained martyrdom while serving on army duty in Ferozepur. As the news of his sudden passing reached his native village, a sombre silence engulfed the entire region. The grieving family members are inconsolable, and in a mark of respect and mourning, local residents refrained from lighting hearths in their homes.
A Young Life Dedicated to National Service
Kulwinder Singh hailed from Kahneke village, situated within the Bhadaur assembly constituency of Barnala district. He completed his secondary education at the local Government Senior Secondary School. Driven by an intense passion to serve the nation, he successfully joined the Indian Army as an Agniveer approximately four years ago, shortly after completing his 12th grade. Despite his youth, he took on the solemn duty of defending the country with immense dedication and courage.
Sole Financial Pillar for a Humble Family
Hailing from an economically vulnerable and modest background, Kulwinder Singh shouldered the responsibilities of his household from an early age. He was the primary financial pillar and the sole support for his aging parents, ensuring their well-being through his military service. The sudden loss has shattered the family completely, leaving the entire community in disbelief. Preparations are underway to conduct his final rites today with full military and state honors in his native village.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic event, Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the Punjab Mandi Board, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Tarsem Singh highlighted that Kulwinder Singh was a courageous and hardworking youth who achieved his military dream despite financial hardships.
