A horrifying incident in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district has sent shockwaves across the region, revealing the dark and tragic consequences of severe alcohol addiction. A man residing in the Surajgarh police station area brutally murdered his wife after she refused to give him money to buy liquor. Displaying a chilling lack of remorse, the accused not only hid her lifeless body in an iron storage trunk but also stripped the deceased of her gold earrings. He then used a fabricated story about a medical emergency to pawn the jewelry at a local liquor shop for a meager amount, solely to fund his addiction. The disturbing crime remained concealed for days until the natural process of decomposition forced the perpetrator to confess.
A Fatal Argument Over Alcohol
The grim sequence of events unfolded in the Agawana Khurd village, involving local resident Krishan Kumar Jat and his 37-year-old wife, Sulochana. According to the authorities, Krishan Kumar suffered from a crippling dependency on alcohol, which frequently caused friction within the household. Four days prior to the grim discovery, a severe altercation broke out between the couple. Krishan Kumar aggressively demanded cash from Sulochana to purchase his daily dose of liquor. When she firmly denied his request and refused to hand over the money, his frustration boiled over into uncontrollable rage. In a sudden and violent outburst, he attacked his wife and strangled her. The assault was so intense that Sulochana died on the spot, turning a domestic dispute over finances into a horrifying homicide.
Concealing the Body and Stealing Jewelry
Immediately following the murder, Krishan Kumar exhibited a calculated and cold-blooded approach to cover his tracks. Knowing that the presence of the body would lead to his immediate arrest, he dragged Sulochana's remains and stuffed them into a heavy iron trunk kept within their residence. Armed with his murdered wife's gold earrings, Krishan Kumar headed straight to a local liquor contractor. To secure the money he desperately needed, he concocted a deeply manipulative lie. He approached the contractor and claimed that his son was suffering from a severe, life-threatening illness, pleading that he needed funds urgently for medical treatment. Touched or convinced by this false narrative, the liquor contractor accepted the gold earrings as collateral and handed over 3,000 rupees. Krishan Kumar immediately used this cash to purchase bottles of alcohol, drinking the liquor bought with the proceeds of his brutal crime before returning to the house where the body lay hidden.

To explain his mother's sudden disappearance, Krishan Kumar lied to the teenager, stating that Sulochana had unexpectedly traveled to her maternal grandmother's house. As the teenager attempted to gather more information and reach out to relatives to verify the story, Krishan Kumar realized his cover was in danger.
