A major burglary has taken place at the G Plus-2 complex inside the Apna Ghar Shalimar residential society in Alwar, Rajasthan. Thieves broke open the main door of a locked apartment and decamped with gold and silver jewelry along with cash worth lakhs of rupees. The crime came to light when the apartment owners returned home after visiting family. Upon finding their main door breached and belongings scattered across the rooms, they immediately alerted the local police.
Break-in Discovered After Couple Returns From In-Laws
The incident targeted the residence of Sudhi Sharma and her husband Naveen Sharma. The couple had temporarily left their flat to visit their in-laws' house. Upon their return, they found the entrance door pried open and the interior thoroughly searched by intruders. Realizing that a theft had occurred, Sudhi Sharma promptly informed the police officers and submitted a formal complaint detailing the missing items.
Valuables Worth Rs 12 Lakh to Rs 15 Lakh Stolen
According to the details provided by Sudhi Sharma, the burglars stole a substantial quantity of gold and silver ornaments along with cash. The missing gold items include two pairs of tops weighing approximately 18 grams and four gold bangles weighing 54 grams. The stolen silver items consist of two pairs of anklets, 25 silver coins, two chains, two rings, and two bracelets. In addition to the jewelry, the thieves took Rs 26,000 in cash. The total financial loss from the stolen valuables and currency is estimated to be between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.
CCTV Footage Captures Suspects as Sweepers Come Under Scanner
Following the report, police personnel and residents inspected the footage from CCTV cameras installed within the housing society premises. The video recordings showed suspicious individuals wearing caps moving toward the flat around the time of the incident. Law enforcement officials are utilizing this visual evidence to trace and identify the culprits. Meanwhile, Sudhi Sharma expressed suspicion regarding the involvement of sweepers working in the residential complex. She highlighted that four previous theft incidents had occurred in the society, raising doubts about internal staff. She further claimed to have recognized one of the sweepers while viewing the camera recordings. However, police authorities have not officially verified the allegations against the sanitation workers, maintaining that investigations are ongoing on all fronts.
Break-In at Second Flat Spreads Panic Among Residents
Amid the ongoing probe, locks on another flat in the same society were found broken on Friday afternoon. This second break-in has heightened security concerns among the residents of Apna Ghar Shalimar Society. Local inhabitants are demanding swift police action to arrest the perpetrators and asking for enhanced security measures throughout the complex. Police officials stated that the investigation is progressing based on CCTV footage and physical evidence, reassuring citizens that legal action will follow once the suspects are formally identified.
