Political circles in Rajasthan witnessed a major tremor on Friday as senior leader and former cabinet minister Vishvendra Singh decided to sever his ties with the Congress party. His deepening discontent regarding organizational matters and state-level functioning has culminated in this formal departure. The move has once again brought internal discord within the principal opposition party out into the open.
Sharp Allegations Against State Leadership
The resignation follows days of escalating verbal attacks directed at Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Govind Singh Dotasra. Singh had publicly questioned the party leadership over multiple contentious matters, including controversies surrounding Rajasthan Administrative Service selections and teacher recruitment tests. He had openly demanded that the party high command intervene decisively and expel leaders responsible for weakening the organization.
Organizational Stance and Political Repercussions
Following reports of his departure, intense discussions have commenced across party ranks in Jaipur. However, the state Pradesh Congress Committee has not yet issued any official statement regarding the formal acceptance of his resignation. Political observers point out that the departure of an influential figure with significant regional standing could present serious strategic hurdles for the party in the coming months.
