A critical stage in the military enlistment drive for youth across Rajasthan has officially commenced at the District Sports Stadium situated on Sanwali Road in Sikar. Running from October 1 through October 23, the 23-day recruitment program will evaluate a total of 12,270 registered candidates from six designated districts across the state. Aspirants gather outside the gates well before daybreak, aiming to clear rigorous fitness benchmarks and secure a pathway into national service.
Initial Rally Timelines and Region-Wise Call-Ups
On the opening day, organizers summoned 369 candidates from Jaipur and Sikar to initiate fitness screening. This initial group included 45 individuals representing multiple zones of Jaipur district, alongside 324 young men drawn from Sikar's key administrative regions, notably Danta Ramgarh, Dhod, Fatehpur, Khandela, Laxmangarh, Nechwa, Neem Ka Thana, Patan, Ramgarh Shekhawati, Reengus, Sikar, and Sri Madhopur. Administrative preparations got underway around 4:00 AM, and candidates were formally admitted into the sports complex starting at 5:00 AM.
For the second day scheduled on October 2, a total of 610 participants have been assigned slots on the testing grounds. Jaipur district accounts for 517 of these candidates, arriving from pockets such as Amer, Andhi, Bassi, Chaksu, Chomu, Dudu, Phulera, Sambhar, Sanganer, Shahpura, and Tunga. The remaining roster for the day comprises 93 candidates coming from Sikar rural and Sri Madhopur belts.
Physical Standards and Synthetic Track Trials
The initial and most demanding hurdle for every applicant remains the physical endurance assessment. Candidates must test their speed and stamina on the stadium's synthetic running track within strict operational cutoffs. For months, these young men spent early mornings training on village trails and open grounds, and that preparation is now put to the test under official supervision. Those who successfully complete the sprint face additional physical assessments before qualifying for future medical and administrative evaluations. In addition to Sikar and Jaipur, the broader roster over the coming weeks covers qualified applicants from Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Kota, and Jodhpur.
Shifting Participation Figures Following Policy Rollout
Recruitment dynamics on ground have shifted considerably following the implementation of the Agnipath scheme in June 2022. Prior to this structural overhaul, regional rallies in Sikar regularly drew mass crowds reaching anywhere between 30,000 and 35,000 applicants at once. The transition toward a phased screening model has led to leaner, pre-screened batches showing up on site, fundamentally altering turnout numbers over consecutive testing cycles.
In 2023, approximately 12,000 candidates from Sikar participated in the process, resulting in over 4,000 selections. The subsequent 2024 cycle witnessed around 13,000 participants, from which roughly 2,500 candidates were selected. By 2025, participation settled at about 10,000 aspirants, and current estimates place local turnout figures near the 6,000 mark. While operational changes have reduced visible crowd volumes on ground, the dedication of candidates striving for an army career remains evident across the 23-day schedule.
