Torrential rainfall wreaked havoc across Dungarpur district as a massive downpour overnight transformed the landscape, leaving streets in the old city submerged under 3 feet of water. Starting around 10 PM, the storm arrived with intense lightning and thunder, continuing throughout the night and disrupting normal life for residents across the region.
Severe Waterlogging in Historic Districts
The intensity of the rainfall turned streets into rivers, particularly within the historic parts of the city. Areas such as Ghati, Kanera Pol, Mochi Bazaar, and Bhoiwada saw water levels reach approximately 3 feet, making it nearly impossible for people to step out of their homes. The continuous precipitation throughout the night also led to a significant inflow of water into local streams and drainage canals.

Local administration has appealed to the public to exercise caution near water-filled areas, drainage channels, and flooded sections of the city to avoid accidents.
